This weekend has been a fully metal one. On Friday night I went out to Unit for the first time in weeks and got to see Andy DJ - as always he was great, despite the sound equipment being rubbish and wouldn't play certain parts of tracks. It was a really great night that ended in the early hours as usual and I got to meet new people which was fun. I always love how many different types of people are at Unit, it's a rock club but there was people dressed all in white or in sports gear or fully Gothed-up. I saw a couple of girls who were dressed like Abby from NCIS (I don't think it was intentional, it was just a similar style) which made me smile. Unit always feels like a community and I love that.

Then yesterday I went with Andy and Jess to Manifest 2007, a rock and metal festival in the Guildhall. £20 for an afternoon and evening of non-stop bands. It was strange seeing the Guildhall without the wrestling ring in it (it's where I go for my local wrestling shows when the AllStars tour here) but it was heartening to truly see all ages of rock fans there, from 14 yr olds to old couples. Plus all the bands were new to me so I got to hear all new stuff, I love live music. SikTh were amazing though they did scare the crap out of me when they organised a Wall of Death - where the crowd seperates into two groups and then runs into each other at full speed. Senser rocked too, I'm gonna have to hunt out some of their stuff. I also liked Beyond All Reason, who had a familiar sound to it, and Send More Paramedics looked cool, they all paled up with make-up and had splashes of red paint on them. Some of their fans had dressed up the same and the lead singer crowd surfed during one song, still singing. There were circle pits and moshing and everyone enjoying the music. We popped out for dinner at Wetherspoons, sat outside in their roof garden bit in the warm sun, it was lovely. Rock and metal always calms me down, like its leeching my anger out of me. Wrestling does the same, helping to stabilise me. I'm so glad I went, even if I am knackered, it was a top day. It's always great to do something different.
