A couple of nights ago, Anthony showed up, soaked to the skin, and with pink roses for me. It made me go all giggly. For someone so passionate about what's wrong with the world, he's also incredibly sweet. We watched more of The Ultimate Fighter Series 1 and lamented The Daily Show with Jon Stewart not being on. Yay, Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz fight next month.

I may be close to finishing my first attempt at a Supernatural fic. I just wanna be sure I've done the characters justice. I'm gonna send it off for betating. Also almost done with a Dom/Fran Jungle Fury fic I've been fiddling with for a while. Fingers crossed.

The weather is cold and crisp and smells like winter. Smelling bonfires makes me think of Grandpa and Millstream. So it's all of the good. Chrismas is coming :)

Granny P isn't getting better. She's back in her care home, but she's not eating. Mum doesn't know what to do. If Granny said she was ready to go then treatment would be stopped, but Granny says she wants to get better though she isn't doing anything to help herself. Mum had a wonderful prayer time with her, which was a comfort, but it's so difficult for her. Granny P is fading, we all know it. But this feels grey and hard and painful for everyone. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts.

I keep oversleeping, which is addling my brain and making each day feel slightly surreal. Everything feels more offkilter than usual. It's most perturbing. My body clock is usually utterly reliable.

Power Rangers RPM is turning out to be quite delightful. Flynn is adorable, I want to find him someone special, probably outside the team. Also Ziggy and Dillon work well together and I kinda want someone to write a fic about them. I'm looking forward to how Dr K could develop.

RIP Mark Hallett. Best known for portrayed Lorne in the series Angel. He always made me smile whenever I caught an episode. I cried when I read the news. He was 33 years old. Another one gone far too soon.

Ah good news at last. Granny P is happily settled at hospital and is now eating and drinking a little. All the trouble comes from her constipation (sorry, should I have warned before I used that word? lol) and she wasn't taking her meds to correct it. *sigh* and she's super stubborn so her poor care home staff had a job on their hands, hence why she's now in hospital. It's so good to know that she's being looked after and she's happy.

My Dad has a new job. His contract on the last one got cut for no reason so he was suddenly without work. Thankfully this meant he was at home for the couple of weeks that the builders have been working on our house. It's being pretty much completely redone, almost all the rooms are being swapped around so I'm gonna be very turned around when I get back there at Easter. Gotta sort out my days off from work for that as well this week. Hopefully Bill will help me get my head around the numbers. So yay for more work for Dad, for the path appearing in front of him.

As for Power Rangers RPM, I am intrigued by the premiere episodes. The plot feels way familiar but I do like the characters. There are already fic ideas in my head. This is not good :)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Or as we used to say in Uni, Happy Jesus Loves You Day. Much more snuggly I think. Makes me feel all warm inside.

So Anthony and I went out to lunch. TGI's was rammed so we went to trusty old Frankie and Benny's, where our waitress was awesomely chatty and sweet and the food was soooo good. Cards were exchanged and then we went shopping. In HMV, he got The Best of the X-Division: Volume 2 (a wrestling DVD in case you didn't guess lol) and I got Ultimate Rangers: The Best of the Power Rangers (to replace the old VHS copy I have) and The War Machines, a William Hartnell Doctor Who. Then we trawled Forbidden Planet, best shop ever. So much geekery to love and cherish. I desired far too much lol.

Looks like we're going to the Christ Church Ball next week. Though it shall be fun as there are rail replacement buses for part of the train journey and then we're gonna have to change in the church bathrooms into our posh clothes. So not how I imagined it all to be. Very glam lol. I may wear the dress on the train with my jeans underneath. Just to be super stylish. Not my high heels though. That would be really painful.

Wow, is it Christmas Eve tomorrow already?! I can't quite believe it and seem convinced in some part of my brain that it really isn't so close to Christmas lol. Yet, I have been to many carol services and seen the Braithwaites decorate their house and wrapped the presents for everyone in my life and sent off the Christmas cards to those I can't see and hug personally. Also I got to hold baby Kendra for the first time on Sunday. She was wriggly and I was afraid I'd drop her but she was beautiful and only a little bit sick, she'd only just been fed after all.

Then there was the Ash Bash yesterday, the Christmas party for my landlord's company and I got to go and eat Thai food and a really delicious cheesecake dessert. Also I went for a long overdue night out with Jess and Andy on Saturday to Dungeon for Nick's birthday. I got to thrash about in a dance kind of way to the music that I love, though it was unpleasant to be around so many people who smoked, even if it was confined to outside. I forgot how gross it makes clothes smell.

Oh and I finished a Power Rangers Jungle Fury fic! A short Fran-centric piece, kinda about her and Dom and kinda not. I like it.
