Watched the first episode of Flashpoint, cos I'm a police show geek, and recognised Amy Jo Johnson after only seeing half of one side of her face. It's official, I am a Power Rangers nerd. She looks like she's hardly changed at all, what's her secret? Also, it's a gratifyingly good show - tense and full of terse shorthand and a really nicely tight team, though I could have done without the brash young rookie who hits on the female team member.

Finally had the guts to watch the season finale of NCIS season 2 tonight. I've had the boxset for ages and have watched every other episode, but haven't been able to bring myself to watch 'Twilight'. But I did and it was a really steller episode. The perfect one for the circumstances.

Second episode of series 5 of Stargate: Atlantis tonight.
25th-Apr-2007 01:45 pm - In the battle againt germs!
nightcreature
Blurgh! I do not want to be ill again. It seems that due to the lack of sleep over the weekend and the turn in the weather from hot and sunny to breezy and grey that I have a cold once again. It started yesterday with a cough errily like the one that started off the draining horrible virus I had a couple of months back (thankfully it's gone today) and a completely blocked nose. So I'm dosing up on all kinds of cold medicines and balsam tissues and I'm hoping to beat back the germs through determination and sheer number of medications. I'm not going through that virus again!

Watching CSI: Miami has been making me sad laterly. Cos I've only got basic television, I only get to see the lastest series they're showing over her in the UK series four and it's really depressing me and after each episode I end up feeling really tense - not good when you've got to get an early night for a 6.30am start the next day. It's because there's too many characters I really don't like - like Stetler of course and that frosty and vindictive Monica West, who try and hurt our heroes. But there is still some lovely stuff of course like the wonderful Horatio Caine (one of the best TV characters ever, though I do feel like the writers are trying to cause as much emotional and mental pain as possible on the man) and seeing him blindsided by Marisol and her charm at the end of last night's episode into accepting a dinner date with her was a delight that made me laugh. It's weird for me that a CSI show would make me so cranky cos I love all the regular characters in all three shows, it's just the ones out to get them I can't stand (which, duh, is the point I know). It's the same with NCIS, I watched Bete Noire recently and Ari made me skin crawl with dislike.
29th-Mar-2007 01:33 pm - Crime Lab Tuesdays
nightcreature
I am renaming Tuesday nights 'Crime Lab Nights' due to the abudance of goodness channel 5 gifts me with. CSI, followed by CSI Miami and then, if I can deal with it, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Saturday nights are good too cos there's NCIS and CSI: New York. I'm enjoying it while I can; when I go home for Easter the only TV that gets channel 5 is in the front room and I have a feeling that my parents won't let me monopolise two evenings with corpses and forensics. I'll have to be sneaky about it.

Today is a day that I hate being a woman - my period came so I have back cramps which really hurt. At least it'll be over by the time I'm train travelling to Cornwall and back. I am grateful for small mercys. I'm gonna have to chop up a pain pill and swallow a gallon water for some relief. Ick. One day someone will invent a really nice-tasting liquid pain relief medicine, I live in hope lol.
