Another weekend, another awesome wedding. Nick and Aisha married, surrounded by lit candles and magical Christmas atmosphere. Most cool, they high-fived after they were officially married and kissed. Made everyone laugh. It was a lovely simple service with gorgeous singing and fun photos of the couple up on the screens during the signing of the register. And we got to see Kendra, who was jiggling with excitement and looked adorable in a green velvet dress. Then Anthony and I took wedding cake to our dear friend Jon who was forced to work and couldn't attend.

In two days, I'll be home and so will Si! I really can't wait to see him, as last time I did it was all sad and melancholy due to Granny P's passing away. Our first Christmas since that and since we redid the house and the first time we'll have someone there who's not immediate family - Anthony who'll be arriving Christmas Eve. I am so full of Christmas spirit. Love it love it love it.

Yay for a brief, but lovely weekend in Cornwall. It was just what Anthony needed - a break from the stresses of work. And we got to see Round the Horne at the theatre. It really was funny. It's sad the theatre wasn't fuller really. I love going to the Theatre Royal, it's where I spent so many special times as I grew up.

I love the views I get from the train on the journey to and from Cornwall. Going through Exeter brought all sorts of memories - it's where Andy's from and where he and Jess first met back when she was still dating my brother, it's where Lerys ex-fiance, Laura, went to university, I've visited the cathedral there with my parents and Anthony, it's where Baby Mel went to university and where I first met her. And the view of the sea is always glorious on that journey. I think Granny P was right; once you've lived by the sea, you'll always go back to it.

Wonderful exciting news - Emma is pregnant again! Kendra is gonna be a big sister. Emma told us the news in a way only she could - she breezed into the church kitchen and shouted to Anthony through the open hatch "help a pregnant lady with some boxes!" Heehee. And Kendra is so grown up now, crawling everywhere at incredible speed, pulling herself up to stand up though not walking yet. It's a joy to hold her, watch her smile and dance and wobble and see her grow. It actually makes me look forward to having my own in the not too distant future.

Being in Cornwall. A mix between being totally comfortable and itching to get out again. It always feels slightly confining, like everything's too small here. Like it's all shrunk and all the air's being slowly sucked out. I always feel rough in the throat too because I talk so much, jumbling stories and trying to catch up with everyone and fill in every detail for them.

Mum is glorious, wild-haired and full of affection, getting faux-cross with my DS when the brain training game told her that her mental age was 80. It's always good spending time with this vision of my future. Plus she's a ton of fun. Ali is still bratty and barrells into conversations to swerve them back to her concerns. She's single again, having recently messily split with Dan. He was a little smothering and got moody and shouted at her when he drank. Strangely, they still went to prom together tonight. Dad is in fine form, asking many questions about the wedding and telling me to come and see Round the Horne when it comes to Plymouth later in the year. Also Chris called round for a visit and we got to catch-up before his house warming on Saturday.

Hopefully, I will find a new phone whilst I'm here for Mum to buy me as part of my birthday presents and by the time I return to Southampton, Jeremy will have worked his techy magic on Zordon, for a modest fee of course. Or not so modest should it turn out to be more broken than I thought.

That was a super emotional couple of days. I feel entirely drained and unable to keep track of what today is.

Granny P's funeral was on Thursday. We all cried during one of the services and had the unique experience of riding in the black funeral car behind the hearse to each part of the day. Mum got through her tribute to her mum beautifully - the ending sentence was "and I was proud to be her daughter" - and me, Si and Ali all did our readings. When they played 'My Way' by Frank Sinatra at the end of the service, Mum sobbed. I held her hand and held her tight and thanked God for the amazing woman Granny P was. As Mum said, she wasn't just her mother, she was her friend. Everyone was crying afterwards.

Mum and Dad revealed to us that Granny P has provided a sum of money each for me, Si and Ali to pay for our education. When it comes through, I'll be able to pay off my student loan. It's an incredible feeling and it touched us all that Granny thought of such a thing. I'm wearing her door key around my neck on a chain. Is that weird? It comforts me. That's probably the weird thing.

It was odd having Si home. He was odd, all tangled up inside and hard and dismissive but still goofy and loving and a great laugh. He's dating one of his housemates, a French Canadian called Flavy, and still absolutely loving Thailand. He went out with friends Wednesday night and got plastered on absinthe with Jack Daniels chasers, giving me the shock of my life when he hammered on the door. I was the only one who woke up and cowered beneath my duvet til he eventually found his way in and sprawled at the bottom of the stairs, hiccuping. I barricaded my door and prayed. He's an unpredictable drunk. He thankfully stumbled upstairs and passed out in his room and was still drunk in the morning, having wild conversations with me and Mum at breakfast. He went back to Thailand today. I can only imagine what he'll be like at my wedding - he likes to delve into people's lives. I hope someone's just as blunt back to him!

Utterly emotionally drained. Back to Southampton tomorrow. Anthony and I have spent the past few days helping my parents move the furniture around into the newly done-up rooms and marvelling at the new decorating here in Cornwall. The house looks so different and really awesome. Yesterday, I went with Mum to the care home and cleared out Granny's room. It was hard for us, we prayed before we started and Mum shed a few tears. I have a few scarfs to wear and think of my glamourous Granny P. Thinking of her will always make me smile. What a life well lived, and filled with so much love.

I have ordered train tickets for the funeral next week. I am hoping to get compassionate leave. Bill has agreed to cover my work shifts, the wonderful man. Si is coming back from Thailand for it, only gonna be in the country for a few days. It will be so wonderful to see him again. It's the strangest thought that I won't see Granny P again.

Holidays begin tomorrow, I am so excited! Off to see Anthony's Mum and Lee tomorrow til next week and then it's off to Cornwall to see my folks. We could all do with a break. So I'll likely not be online as frequently as I usually am, which is the most sucky thing about being away from Southampton - not as much time to devote to the internet. Thankfully I have a hugely understanding fiance who will let me kidnap his laptop when I get the urge, heehee.

There is a good possibility, so my Dad told me in a very solemn phone call last night, that Granny P will die very soon. She's not eating still and she's fading fast. Pray for it to be peaceful and that we'll be able to get in contact with Si about it. He's in Cambodia on holiday and totally out of contact.

Finally back from my very British jet setting lol. Ireland was beautiful, very crisp and historical. We had a blast out there. Did the whole tourist thing - went on a tour bus to see all the sights, went to a traditional Irish pub for dinner where Anthony had a pint of Guiness and an Irish stew, and we took photos of pretty much everything. The hotel was pretty too, the only complaint I have is that I could hear the disco from three floors up which seriously damaged my sleep.

Brighton was cold! As in seriously brisk and face-numbing. Again, lots of photos were taken and I had a great time spending the days with Paul, Tim and Chris - the three who I'm closest to from back home. Again, lots of photos were taken, old school stories were disected and memories shaken out into the light of day. And I found some pretty scarves for the Braithwaite girls. Which means almost all my Christmas shopping is done. I am however, exhausted, not sure why. Need to catch up on some sleep before Christmas next week - how that happen?!!

Those clever PlymKids techs have got the trailer up for Me and My Girl and can be checked out here thanks to the wonder of YouTube. My sister is the one with the wonderful look on her face when the man puts his arm around her lol. I am proud of her and the entire company - is that possessive and weird considering the fact I only know one of the other actors? Probably, but there it is.

An odd thing to get used to at home is seeing pieces of my late Grandma's furniture here, like the red and gold sofa I'm sat on right now or Lady, the statue in the garden that Mum and Dad are looking after til I have a garden of my own. It's a little sad, reminding me that Millstream House is no longer part of our family and there'll be no more visits there. Once again hits home that Granny K is around no more. It'll take a while for that to really properly sink in.

Just back from Ali's PlymKids production of Me and My Girl. Quite spectacular and Ali was really good in her first main role, the Duchess. She was very formidable, keeping up a posh accent and a sneering expression for the whole show. I'm very proud. Tony was a hilarious upper class idiot and my eye was always drawn to Len in the chorus, 'cause he's always acting. A really uplifting cheerful show. There's a couple of trailers for PlymKids past shows on YouTube (as every show is videoed and given to the cast on DVD which includes a trailer as one of the extras) - We Will Rock You in 2007 and Sweeney Todd earlier this year. They really show how spectacular their productions always are. Might be doing Rent and Fame next year, I look forward to them already.

Dad is well. He gets tetchy and weird when he's tired, but today we went to see an exhibition of Beryl Cook paintings, he loves her work, and he tucked his hand into my arm and was great company as we walked through Plymouth. Mum and I are argued about the hat I wanted to wear to the theatre - apparently the one I wore last year, and for pretty much every PlymKids show, is now no longer acceptable so she bought me a beret and then she and Dad proceeded to tell me I looked like Frank Spencer or Benny Hill or a member of the Tooting Liberation Front (from the series Citizen Smith) - I want that one on a t-shirt! lol. I love my family.

I am unbelievably exited about going home tomorrow. It's only a few days, but it will include a day with Mum, watching Ali in her first starring role with PlymKids, and dinner and Thailand photos with my dear friend, Chris. I pray for no late trains or buses tomorrow. Tis often a thorn in my side.

Have begun wading my way through the Sharpe TV films. Much beloved by Mum, an early memory of mine is Mum telling me about Sharpe and Sean Bean. I feel like I've inherited a love for the character and series from her, just like I inherited Doctor Who, James Bond, and Indiana Jones. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel like I have to watch them because my Mum did and does, I watch them because I remember loving them as a child through watching them with my family, especially Mum. She has most excellent taste. Sharpe's Rifles is really very good. Gotta start reading the books.
