Ah, Ashes to Ashes finale day has been and gone and there was much to love there. I was genuinely surprised at how they wrapped it up, in a good way.

Ashes to Ashes officially gets a second series. *celebrates* Yay for more agonising goodness.

I still fear the finale tomorrow night, but this at least gives me something to smile about.

Anthony's been surviving meeting my family. I helped him to pick out some flowers for Mum and chocolate for Dad as thanks for their hospitality. It's been really good. We went ice skating on Monday and had burgers at Captain Jasper's - best place to eat in the area, whole fatty goodness. Then there was a day out in Exeter yesterday in which we went with my parentals, explored the cathedral (awesome beauty and so awe inspiring. Felt so close to God), bought everyone lunch, and got to meet his sister Mel (who goes to the Exeter uni). Also there was a gathering at Chris's house last night, was lovely fun.

We have also made our way through the first series of Life on Mars and I'm really glad I did. I definitely prefer Gene in Ashes to Ashes, he's lost some of his pure ignorance and nastiness and I know some fans feel like he's lost his edge and is now like some kind of lovesick puppy but I don't agree. He's still the Gene Genie, has wonderfully cutting one-liners and awesome chemistry with Alex. Gonna borrow LoM series 2 from Anthony's mum and stepdad who we're staying with from tomorrow to Monday. Penultimate episode of Ashes to Ashes on Thursday, almost scared to watch it. I no longer trust that the BBC scriptwriters will treat our characters right.
14th-Mar-2008 10:43 pm - Getting more geek by the minute

I have reached new levels of geekdom. I bought this month's SFX Magazine cos it had a four page article on Robin of Sherwood. It was a top article too - praising the series and how its interpretation of the Robin Hood legend will never be bettered. Amen to that. Inspired me to start work on writing a new fic I've been thinking of for that fandom too.

Also have watched some Ashes to Ashes and really liked it. I've always loved Gene and I do really like Gene/Alex *hides from the rabid Sam/Gene shippers*. I look forward to seeing where it all goes. Plus the fics I've found for the Galex pairing are top. I look forward to more.
