Sanctuary has gotten my attention. Very cool. Amanda Tapping looking very different but it works and I really like the concept. Plus there's a ton of Stargate actors in it. I'm glad it's gotten a run on TV. I look forward to it.

CSI: New York made me cry tonight. Specifically Danny.

These long days are killing me, and I'm only half way through the first week!

I did have a nice lunch hour today though. When the weather's good, I sit by the pond in the sunshine and lately there's been some ducks visiting it. They're very friendly, and make me smile and remember my later grandma. We always used to feed the ducks at her house. It's nice to think of her when I'm outside, cos she always liked us being out in the fresh hour. I'm glad that I have good memories of her.

I hid in the uni library after my lunch. I got lost amongst the journal section, just being surrounded by the words was so soothing. I wandered and wandered and didn't get bored at all. I'm sure I freaked the students out. I contemplated lying down amongst the stacks and napping, but I could have got squashed.

There's lots of carboard boxes behind my desk at the moment full of folders we're giving away (for marketing reasons) so I told Tanya and Derek that I'm gonna use the boxes to create me a fort tomorrow and that I would be sleeping in it should anyone need one. And they thought I was joking.

Watched some of the crossover eps between CSI: Miami and CSI: New York tonight and they still make me smile in the best way. The dream team of Horatio and Mac for the win! One day, they'll team up with Grissom and fangirls everywhere will melt or the world'll explode or something. I look forward to that day. I'll grin for a week after it.

So after two buses and three trains, I got back to Southampton safely yesterday. It feels like I've been gone five minutes, not eight days. The weather's boiling here so I got my sheets washed and dried, though it does mean that stepping outside is like stepping into an oven, ick. Got my grocery shopping done and went on a long walk into a part of Southampton I don't normally go to cos I've got a meeting at someone's house there in a week and I wanted to be sure of the route. It goes over this big river and there's some nice park land by it. For a second, when I was on the bridge and looking at the park and the boats in the water and seeing the big metal cranes nearby, it was like being in Cornwall again.

I've just watched a CSI: New York episode with John McEnroe in, I kid you not. I couldn't make that up. It amused me muchly, especially since he's one of my Wimbledon faves and it's the men's singles final tomorrow. I watched Federer blast his way through his semi-final today so I'm looking forward to the final. I miss watching it with my mum and Si, but at least I'll get to see it. My mum worked out the other day that I was watching Wimbledon from as early an age as 3 cos she's mega obsessed with it and always has it on every year. Wimbledon is so much love.

Watched The Princess Bride last night and was reminded of what a great film it is. Plus it's got Andre the Giant in it who makes me smile and Mandy Patinkin in his best role ever and it makes me giggle realising he's Gideon in Criminal Minds now, talk about range.

Plus, I got to see Manhattan Manhunt, the CSI: NY episode I've been searching for. Check out Channel 5's website people, you can download a media player and watch any episodes they have up there for £1.49 each. Pretty cushy deal. The episode was awesome with a lot of stuff I didn't see coming, made me wish CSI: NY and CSI: Miami teamed up a lot more - I really wanna see a huge bumper episode when all three shows team up. Maybe for a special anniversary of the show? Now I really wanna buy some CSI: NY DVDs, but not til I've bought the NCIS boxsets first though. I'm collecting too many shows on DVD right now already lol.
